Working together for a good cause: our heartfelt projects for 2025

At DAS Environmental Expert GmbH, we work every day on innovative technologies that protect the environment and resources worldwide – for clean water, clean air and safe production processes. But our responsibility does not end where the technical solution ends.

That is why we are committed to charitable projects that support people in challenging life situations, enable young people to receive education and participate in society, protect the environment and strengthen communities – in our home region of Dresden and at our second location near Regensburg.

We call these partnerships our ‘heartfelt projects’ (Herzensprojekte) because that is exactly what they are: projects that have been personally proposed and selected by our employees and that make a difference for the better.

Where our help goes – overview of our heartfelt projects

Every year, our donations go towards the work of five outstanding initiatives. They all make an important contribution to greater equality, social justice and peaceful coexistence.

Thomas Wiser House (Cham near Regensburg): A temporary home for children who need safety and guidance

The Thomas Wiser House is a therapeutic educational facility for children who, for various reasons, cannot live with their families. Many of them have experienced violence, neglect or emotional insecurity. At the Thomas Wiser House, they are given a safe space where they can find peace, build trust and develop new perspectives.

What we donate to:

Our financial support goes towards the residential project in Cham. The money can be used, for example, to organise a group outing for the residents – a valuable opportunity to give the children special experiences and offer them moments of carefree fun.

Musaik – Grenzenlos musizieren e. V.: Musical education for all – building bridges between cultures and worlds

Musaik – Grenzenlos Musizieren e.V. is a multi-award-winning social music project that was founded in Dresden in 2017. Its aim is to give all children and young people – regardless of their background or income – access to high-quality music lessons.

Three times a week, children from all over the world meet for free group lessons and make music together in ensembles.

In the process, they not only develop musical skills, but also important social skills such as responsibility, teamwork, tolerance and creative expression.

What we donate:

Our support goes towards the purchase of instruments, sheet music and organisational resources to enable as many children as possible to participate. Because cultural participation should not be a question of money.

Dresden – Place to be! e. V.: Living diversity, enabling integration, promoting cohesion

Dresden – Place to be! e. V. is committed to peaceful, open and respectful coexistence in urban society. The association supports people from over 100 countries – from international researchers and skilled workers to refugees – as they settle in Dresden.

Projects such as learning sponsorships for foreign children, integration support and public events strengthen participation in social life. A particular highlight is the ‘Dresden is(s)t bunt’ (Dresden is colourful) banquet, where thousands of people gather every year on the Augustus Bridge to eat, celebrate and make a statement for diversity.

What we donate to:

Our donation will be used to purchase additional books that Dresden primary school pupils were able to choose themselves. Children’s and young adult books in other languages will also be purchased so that children growing up bilingual can enjoy stimulating reading material in their mother tongue.

Zuckerstachel e.V.: A strong network for children with diabetes – community, knowledge, self-confidence

Zuckerstachel e. V. organises a two-week holiday and training camp every year for 45 children and young people with diabetes. Here, participants can experience in a safe environment that they are not alone with their illness. They receive medical knowledge, practical everyday tips and, above all, confidence in themselves.

The camp is supervised by a team of volunteer diabetologists and educators from all over Saxony – a unique network of expertise and commitment.

What we donate:

Our support contributes to the running of the 2025 camp – from accommodation and meals to medical care, educational programmes and leisure activities.

Johann-Friedrich-Jencke Support Centre, Dresden: Empowering children with hearing impairments through environmental education and accessible learning

The Johann-Friedrich-Jencke Support Centre in Dresden is a school that focuses on hearing impairment. Here, children who are deaf or hard of hearing learn with specially trained teachers and using special learning methods. The school’s support association backs educational and environmental projects that actively involve the children and create new opportunities for them to gain experience.

What we donate to:

Our donations enable the purchase of learning materials that are tailored to the special needs of the children – for greater participation, understanding and sustainable learning.

Because companies not only shape the economy – they also share responsibility for society.

‘We want to combine the personal commitment of our employees with the social responsibility of our company, and we want to do this at all DAS locations worldwide. Together, we are leaving behind not only a greener footprint, but also one that is socially valuable,’ says Daniela Georgi, Chief Culture Officer at DAS Environmental Expert GmbH.
