BMBF-WavE collaborative project Med-zeroSolvent successfully completed
After three years of intensive research work, DAS Environmental Experts, together with TU Dresden and other project partners, has successfully completed the Med-zeroSolvent project. The aim of the project was to develop a multi-stage process for the treatment of solvent-containing process water in the production of dialysis membranes, with possible reuse of the treated water.
All relevant findings were presented at a full-day symposium on 24.10.2024 at TU Dresden. The most important project results are:
- MBBR technology is the only process capable of treating wastewater containing solvents with up to 99% cleaning performance under high load
- Testing the process technologies can lead to valuable optimizations by operating a pilot plant under real conditions
- Process water treatment should be considered comprehensively and offers great opportunities for savings and resource conservation (water reuse,CO2, energy, costs)
