30.10.2025

Join us at the 10th IndustrieTage Wassertechnik in Berlin on 18–19 November 2025!

Caroline Albers, Process Engineer Water Treatment, will contribute to the conference programme with her presentation on “Direct Water Recycling from Exhaust Gas Abatement in the Semiconductor Industry.” This talk will highlight how innovative management of abatement wastewater can support sustainable semiconductor production — by closing loops and reducing resource consumption.

A key area for reducing the environmental impact of semiconductor manufacturing is the sustainable recycling of wastewater from gas abatement. In order to achieve direct water recycling in these processes, certain contaminants must be removed, including salts, organic compounds, and particles. The type of contamination and the associated treatment technology varies depending on the exhaust gas abatement technology used.

This presentation provides insights into the advantages and challenges of treating and recycling wastewater from gas abatements in the semiconductor industry and highlights the potential for improving water usage and contributing to more sustainable industrial processes.
