DAS Environmental Experts Opens New Service Office in Northern Dresden
With a new service office in northern Dresden, DAS Environmental Experts is strengthening its presence in the European semiconductor cluster Silicon Saxony and responding to rising demand driven by growing manufacturing capacity in the region. The opening coincides with the environmental technology company’s 35th anniversary.
A Strategic Step Toward Closer Cooperation
The new location is situated in close proximity to key production facilities in the semiconductor industry. The goal is to provide services more quickly and efficiently directly at the point of value creation. This move is driven by structural changes in the service business. Over the past five years, the number of systems serviced in northern Dresden has risen steadily, while customer requirements have become increasingly demanding. Shorter response times, higher equipment availability, and closer on-site coordination processes are now considered critical factors for production success. “Proximity to our customers and the resulting speed of response were decisive factors in the decision to open a second service office in Dresden,” says Stephan Raithel, Chief Operating Officer of Gas Treatment at DAS Environmental Experts.
“In an environment of increasing technological complexity, speed in service is becoming a decisive competitive factor. The new service office is far more than just a logistical optimization. It exemplifies the next stage of development for the semiconductor cluster. As manufacturing capacities expand, the bottleneck is increasingly shifting from production to the stability and resilience of ongoing processes,” adds Raithel.
24/7 Support for Critical Infrastructure
For many years, customers in Dresden and across Europe were served by centrally organized service teams. With the establishment of a dedicated team for the Dresden area, DAS Environmental Experts is now aligning its organization more closely with local needs. The goal is to provide continuous support with designated points of contact, as well as greater operational availability of service resources. At the same time, the company is responding to structural challenges in the industry, including increasing pressure to improve efficiency and competition for qualified skilled workers. At the site in northern Dresden, one supervisor and 18 service technicians are currently on duty, 14 of whom work directly on-site with customers and four of whom are specialists who can be deployed flexibly. The team provides 24/7 support for the systems. Thanks to the geographical proximity, travel times can be reduced by up to 80 percent. In an industry where unplanned downtime immediately results in high costs, the speed of service calls is becoming increasingly important. Reducing travel not only lowers costs but also supports the sustainability goals the industry has set for itself.
New Office as an Operational and Cultural Hub
With the new office, which was opened on April 29, 2026, in collaboration with customers, DAS Environmental Experts is also laying the infrastructural groundwork for further growth. In addition to shorter communication channels and improved coordination between teams and customers, a local spare parts warehouse enables faster availability of critical components. The location also strengthens connections with other suppliers and partners in the semiconductor ecosystem. “DAS Environmental Experts exemplifies how every new job created in semiconductor manufacturing within the ecosystem generates approximately three additional jobs in the supplier industry. DAS’s investment underscores this effect. This development also demonstrates how the high-tech cluster is becoming increasingly concentrated and how value creation is gaining depth and quality,” says Frank Bösenberg, Managing Director of Silicon Saxony.
The new office is designed as a modern work and service location. Flexible workspaces promote exchange between the teams at both Dresden locations, while new meeting and training rooms can be used for collaboration with customers. The company is thus combining operational efficiency with the goal of positioning its organization for long-term growth. The development in northern Dresden underscores the dynamism of the semiconductor hub. By expanding its local presence, DAS Environmental Experts sees itself in a position to meet the rising demand for s
