Instagram-Challenge by DAS and Jugend forscht Sachsen — Vote now!
The main objective of “Jugend forscht”* — the German youth science competition — is the promotion of talents in the STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). With the project ideas in the “Jugend forscht” and “Schüler experimentieren” competitions, many young people make an important contribution to solving social problems. DAS is now in its second year of promoting this enthusiasm, talent and passion for science projects and subject areas.
Following the cancellation of this year’s state competition due to Corona, we want to give our young researchers the opportunity to make their outstanding research work digitally accessible to renowned scientific institutions, associations and research facilities. That is why Jugend forscht Saxony is launching “Jugend forscht #instachallenge” today, May 20th, 2020, together with us as the regional sponsoring company.
What is happening in the #instachallenge?
All participants in the three Saxon regional competitions were invited to film themselves in advance when presenting their projects and exhibits. Similar to the jury discussion in the regular competition, they explained their ideas as well as the approach and results of their work with all their powers of persuasion.
The #instachallenge is a premiere in the history of “Jugend forscht” — never before has there been a comparable online action within the competition.
We as the sponsoring company are very pleased with the research work submitted by the researchers so far. It is great to see the diligence and inventiveness that the participants have put into their work. For us, this is a wonderful confirmation of our decision to launch the Challenge and to give young people a platform for their ideas despite the adverse circumstances.
From now on it’s VOTE, VOTE, VOTE
The submitted clips can be viewed on the Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/jugendforscht_sachsen (German only). There, anyone with an Instagram account can vote until May 31st, 2020. The video presentation with the most Likes will then be chosen as the winner and can look forward to a prize. Those who do not have an Instagram account will also find the video clips on the website at https://www.jugend-forscht-sachsen.de.
We now invite you to visit the virtual exhibition to get an idea of the research work and give the young people your feedback.
Please support us in ensuring that the “Jugend forscht” network idea is lived out and that the promotion of young researchers is not neglected in times of crisis. Vote or get in touch with the young research talents independently via private message.
Together, we will create effective and sustainable support for the next generation of STEM researchers and further develop the “Jugend forscht 2021” project.
Our thanks and the thanks of the young researchers are certain!
